Chemicals that affect your jewelry
The substances that aren’t PH neutral, they affect the gold plated jewelry. Some of them are :
Make up stuff
Ensure that the gold plated jewelry never comes in contact with certain substances like nail paint, perfume, oil, body lotion etc., otherwise it will tarnish. Always spray perfume before putting on your gold plated jewelry. Do not wear your gold plated jewelry unless your body lotion or cream dries up completely.
Fruits or vegetables
While having fruits or vegetables which are acidic or alkaline in nature, also make sure that your jewelry is away from it. While working in the kitchen, specifically while chopping fruits and vegetable, remove all the rings and bracelets.
Cleaning of plated jewelry
It is important to clean your gold plated jewelry using a soft cloth or a cotton ball after each use so as to remove the dust and filth. Clean your gold plated jewelry periodically because it remains in touch with the sweat of your skin.
